Spazio Artigiano. Hand-made fabrics, Sicilian ceramics and icons
This delightful hand-made drapers and Sicilian ceramics workshop/shop is set in the Monti district, in Vicolo dei Serpenti: its owner, Cristina Venezia produces loom made fabrics: drapes, shawls, cushions thread in natural yarn such as linen, silk, pure wool, mohair, cachemere and alpaca wool. In addition to its production, Spazio Artigiano gathers wonderful and rare Italian ceramics from Sicily including the Caltagirone type by Giacomo Alessi, those from Umbria and also the typical green type from Marche. The ceramics are all worked at potter’s wheel and hand painted. Magnificent blown glass products such as glasses and brooches are also on sale. Among articles of remarkable taste and quality there are particular clothed bags and skirts in astonishing colours, a wide range of glass painted icons from Italy and abroad.
