Leaving Rome in a northerly direction and crossing the green valley of the Tiber river, we will pass the slopes of the Apennines which are covered with olive groves and vineyards before seeing the famous valley of Chianti and finally arriving in Florence bordering the banks of the Arno river. The city tour will start with a visit to the Academy Museum where we will see the magnificent David by Michelangelo and then, continuing on foot with our local guide to see the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with the beautiful dome by Brunelleschi, the Baptistry, Giotto's Belltower. Then we will reach Piazza della Signoria, the very "heart of Florence".


Lunch in a typical Florentine restaurant. After lunch, we will then continue to the Piazza Santa Croce, with the splendid church of Santa Croce where great artists as Michelangelo are buried. Then we will have the opportunity to visit one of the leather schools in order to admire one of the typical crafts of the city, here we will have some freetime to discover some of the other ancient crafts such as mosaics and goldsmiths.

Departure from Florence at approximately 5,00 pm for the return journey to Rome. Return to or nearby your hotel.

Useful information: We would reccomend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes. We ask you to pay particular attention to your guide and to wear sunglasses and sunhats in the summer months to avoid any risk of sunstroke. We remind you that entrance into churches requires appropriate attire (no shorts, miniskirts or uncovered shoulders)
