1st day -
Leaving Rome in a southerly direction, we take the "Highway
of the Sun" crossing the fertile Roman countryside known
as the area of the "Castelli Romani".
Approximately halfway along the highway you will be able too see the Abbey of Montecassino,
noted for its famous battle and complete destruction during the
second World War. Arriving in Naples we stop on the hill of
Posillipo from where we can enjoy one of the most spectacular views
of the Gulf.. We will arrive in the ancient fishing district of St.
Lucia dominated by the impressive Castel dell'Ovo.
The city tour continues crossing the historical centre. Upon leaving
the city, we cross the fertile valley of Mount
Vesuvius, passing the villages of Ercolano,
Torre del Greco and Torre Annunziata before finally arriving
at Pompeii where we will stop for lunch. In the afternoon we will continue
with a local guide on foot for an archeological journey through the
ancient city for approx a 2 hours visit. Buried under a layer of ashes
and lapilli by a sudden eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D., after 1700
years the excavations have brought to light Pompeii. After the
visit we proceed along one of the most beautiful panoramic roads in
Italy known as the "Costiera
Sorrentina" .Arrival at hotel, dinner and overnight. 2nd day
- After breakfast transfer to the port of Sorrento and after approx
20 minutes by boat we land at the Port of Marina Grande on the Island
of Capri. We will then board motorboats to visit the Blue
Grotto (if weather and sea conditions permit) followed by
a panoramic tour of Capri and Anacapri by
minibus and on foot. After the visit of Capri
in the afternoon your local guide will accompany you to your hotel on
Capri. Dinner and overnight. 3rd day -
Breakfast in hotel. The rest of the day is yours to discover the charms
of this jewel of the Mediterranean. Lunch included in a typical restaurant.
In the afternoon , your local guide will transfer you back to the port
to take the boat and consequently the coach back to Rome. Approximate
arrival time around 8,00 - 8,30 pm and return to, or nearby your Hotel. Useful
information: We would reccomend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
We ask you to pay particular attention to your guide and to wear sunglasses
and sunhats in the summer months to avoid any risk of sunstroke. Also,
to assist with the trnsfers from Sorrento to Capri, it is advisable
to only bring luggage necessary for your stay. Remember, of course,
to bring your bathing-suit during the summer months.The tour cost does not include the carriage of luggage
or porterage on the Sorrento -Capri - Naples transfers. The charge of
approx. Eu 15,49 per bag should be paid directly by clients.
